Social Justice At SWUU

SouthWest UU Church is actively engaged in the community.

Each UrbanHope_CWmonth we live our values at Urban Hope, located in a storefront in the near west side of Cleveland. We provide food, and a loving safe space for members of this neighborhood to gather in community.  Residents have said we always come with love in our hearts.

justice issues in Cleveland.

THE SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE IN A NUTSHELL!

SWUU supports Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity in its effort to provide safe, affordable, environmentally sound homes for Partner Families in targeted neighborhoods. Because of the work of Habitat, local families and their children are able to have a more stable life.

  • Supports community outreach and determines our churches monthly focus collections.
  • Each month we share our Offering and donate money to local organizations, 12 each year.
  • Some of our long standing support is given to Front Steps, Habitat for Humanity, and Greater Cleveland Food Bank where in the last 7 years we have provided approximately 15,000 meals to our neighbors in need.
